Day 1: (Saturday) Paris - Arrival
Today's Highlights: Night-time transfer to the Montmartre neighbourhood. Funicular ride (included).
Welcome to Paris! On arrival at the airport, we will be waiting to transfer you to the hotel. Free time. You will receive information about the start of the circuit during the afternoon, or you can check the informative panels in the hotel reception area.
At the end of the evening, we provide transfer to the Montmartre district. This neighbourhood is known for its painters, artists, and its cabarets. Sit down to dinner and enjoy a magical night. You can choose between Indian, Chinese, French and American cuisines. We will ascend by funicular to the hill and admire the spectacular view of Paris from the top. Return to the hotel.
Day 2: (Sunday) Paris
Today's Highlights: City tour in Paris. Climb to the second floor of the Eiffel Tower. A boat ride along the Seine. Evening transfer.
A scenic guided tour to discover the history, main boulevards and the breathtaking monuments of Paris. We end the visit at the Eiffel Tower area. You will have the opportunity to climb up to the second floor of this remarkable metal monument (ticket admission included). End your visit with a boat cruise along the River Seine, which divides the north of Paris from the south. Enjoy a free afternoon to explore as you choose.
Note: Sometimes queues to climb the Eiffel Tower are long. For organizational reasons, if deemed appropriate, the climb can be made at a different moment of the day (or Monday).
At sunset transfer to the “Quartier Latin”, a very picturesque area of the historic centre where you can enjoy dinner with a wide variety of international cuisines. Return to the hotel.
Day 3: (Monday) Paris
Today's Highlights: Free time in the City of Light.
We go to the centre of Paris, to the area of the Louvre Museum. Free time. If you wish we can accompany you to Benlux, one of the most complete and best-known perfumeries in Paris. Rest of the day free. It will be offered for travellers who are interested, an optional excursion to enjoy in Eurodisney.
Day 4: (Tuesday) Paris - Noyers - Beaune - Lyon
Today's Highlights:: Vineyards in Beaune and Bourgogne region.
We travel to the centre of France to the Bourgogne region, famous for its wines. A stop in Noyers, a small medieval town classified amongst the prettiest places in France. After this, we will visit Beaune in the centre of the Bourgogne region where its streets full of flowers, its hospice and its wine museum can be reminders of your trip. Time for lunch. Lyon – Arrival mid-afternoon, to the capital of Roman Gallia on the banks of the Rhône, its historic centre has been declared a World Heritage site. Free time.
Day 5: (Wednesday) Lyon - Geneva - Zurich
Today's Highlights: Swiss Landscapes. Centre of Geneva
We have a beautiful stage. We travel to Switzerland. Geneva, arrival. With our guide, go to the Palais des Nations (the United Nations headquarters in Europe) and then to the beautiful “Jardin Anglais” with its flower clock, and admire the “Jet d’Eau”, the tallest fountain in Europe. After lunch, we will continue through Switzerland passing the beautiful Leman and Neuchatel Lakes (Note: depending on the number of travellers from Geneva to Zürich, this trip might be done by train).
Day 6: (Thursday) Zurich - Rapperswil - Zurich
Today's Highlights: Boat trip across Zurich lake. Journey by train.
With our guide, we will stroll in the most populated city of Switzerland, the financial and cultural capital of the country. The city of banks has twice been declared the city with the best quality of life in the world. After this, we will board a boat for a trip lasting almost two hours on Zurich lake. The boat makes brief stops, allowing us to admire the villages on the way. We get off in Rapperswil, a small and highly picturesque village overlooked by its medieval castle. We return to Zurich by train and will see the efficiency and punctuality of the Swiss Railways. Enjoy an evening in the historic centre, next to the lake, where you can dine at your favourite restaurant (Indian, Oriental, Italian, International, Swiss, etc.).
Day 7: (Friday) Zurich - Grindelwald - Lucerne - Zurich
Today's Highlights: Admire the fantastic landscapes. Cable car included to Grindelwald first. Lunch included.
Today´s stage has beautiful landscapes with high mountains and lakes. Breathtaking scenery in the region of Interlaken. Grindelwald where we will have time for a coffee before taking the cable car (ticket included) up to Grindelwald first. We will walk along the path (30 minutes) in which we shall be able to take the footbridge over the empty among the fantastic scenery enjoying glaciers around us. Lunch included (vegetarian option available). After that, we continue to Lucerne, one of the most beautiful cities in Switzerland. Time at the end of the day to stroll, enjoy the city and dine before returning to the hotel in Zurich.
Day 8: (Saturday) Zurich - Burglen- Lugano- Morcote - Milan
Today's Highlights: We will know the town of William Tell.
We travel to Burglen, the tiny village where William Tell was born, we shall see the chapel of the XVI century with paintings illustrating his life. We continue to Lugano the cosmopolitan capital of Italian Switzerland with its beautiful lake. Time to stroll and have lunch. Afterwards, following the shores of the lake, we reach the enchanting little town of Morcote, with its houses made of stone, and covered with flowers.
Arrival in Milan where our guide will take us to the impressive Duomo Square. There will be time to dine at the Porta Venecia (Port of Venice) where an outstanding variety of restaurants can be found to delight your palate. From restaurants serving Swiss and Italian food to French, Chinese and international food. Transfer to hotel.
Day 9: (Sunday) Milan - Pisa - Rome
Today's Highlights: Centre of Milano. Leaning Tower of Pisa.
Time in Milan in which we can see its great cathedral and the galleries in the centre. Then we continue towards PISA. On a little tourist train, we will travel to the Piazza Dei Miracoli (Square of Miracles), where there will be time to admire one of the most alluring and beautiful art complexes in Italy, including the well known Leaning Tower of Pisa. Then, we continue to Rome, arriving at the end of the afternoon.
Day 10: (Monday) Rome- Naples- Capri- Sorrento- Salerno
An early start in Rome, to travel to the south of Italy. We pass through Naples where we embark (boat ticket included) for the Island of Capri; if you wish, you can take a boat to the Blue Grotto or take a trip on the cable car to Capri capital.
After lunch, we will board once more and continue to Sorrento, a town full of charm and tourist life at the foot of the cliff. Time to stroll. We continue to the Gulf of Salerno. Dinner included and accommodation in Salerno.
Day 11: (Tuesday) Salerno- Paola- Messina- Taormina
We travel to the south of ¨the boot¨. Attractive southern Italian scenery as we cross the Cilento National Park. We arrive in Paola, on the shores of the Tyrrhenian Sea, we visit the sanctuary of St Francis of Paola and we have free time for lunch in its pretty historic centre. We go on our way to Villa San Giovanni where we take a short ferry crossing to the island of Sicily.
Arrival in Messina where we will have time for a stroll and to visit the cathedral before continuing to Taormina. Dinner included.
NB: Accommodation in the “region of Taormina”, the accommodation may sometimes be in Messina.
Day 12: (Wednesday) Taormina
At the foot of the Etna volcano, the very beautiful city of Taormina was defined by Churchill as the prettiest place on earth. Time to stroll around the ancient city centre full of life, its Greek theatre overlooking unforgettable scenery. You can also enjoy the beach. Dinner included.
Day 13: (Thursday) Taormina- Syracuse- Noto- Agrigento
We travel to Syracuse, a city which for a time rivalled Athens and Rome for its power and splendour. Time to visit its magnificent historic centre. After lunch, we go on to Noto, a small city that seems to have stopped in time, the Baroque jewel of Sicily. We carry on towards Agrigento. In the coach, we see the magnificent temple complex. Dinner included.
Day 14: (Friday) Agrigento- Marsala- Erice- Palermo
With a local guide, we visit the Valley of the Temples, an impressive archaeological site considered the most complete complex of Greek temples (ticket not included). We travel to Marsala, a historic city with a lot of atmospheres and a famous wine, and time for lunch. We go on around the Marsala salt marshes to Erice, a very picturesque Phoenician town overlooking the sea. Time to stroll. We carry on to Palmero. Dinner included.
Day 15: (Saturday) Palermo- Monreale- Night crossing
After breakfast, a tour of Palmero. The Sicilian capital is a city full of contrasts. Stories of Arabs, Normans, the splendour of the Baroque period. We include a transfer to the beautiful village (now an outlying district of Palermo) of Monreale. The city particularly stands out for the Palace of the Normans with its Palatine Chapel and Cathedral. At the end of the afternoon, we board a modern night ferry. Accommodation in double cabins with bathroom.
Day 16: (Sunday) Naples- Pompeii- Cassino- Rome
Arrival in Naples first thing in the morning (breakfast not included). After disembarking, time for breakfast. We continue to Pompeii to see the remains of this Roman city that was covered by the ash of Vesuvius with a local guide (tickets not included). After lunch, continuation to Cassino to see the immense Abbey; time too in the Polish Cemetery that reminds us that one of the toughest battles of the Second World War took place here. Continuation to Rome. Arrival in Rome at the end of the afternoon.
Day 17: (Monday) Rome
Today's Highlights: City tour of Rome. Roman Coliseum (admission price included) and Vatican City.
In the morning, we have a scenic tour of the city, which will be a great introduction to “The Eternal city”. We enter the tiny state of the Vatican. The Vatican City is a principal centre of Christianity in the world. You will be able to visit St. Peter’s Basilica. And we have also included admission to the Roman Coliseum, the principal symbol of Rome. This impressive construction dates back 2,000 years and will transport us in time so that we can learn about ancient society in the Roman Empire. In the evening we provide transport to the Via Cavour area, where you will find restaurants serving Italian, Indian, Chinese and international food. Return to the hotel.
Day 18: (Tuesday) Rome - Florence
Today's Highlights: Tour with a local expert from Florence. View from Piazzale Michelangelo.
We will leave Rome, heading north. This route is graced with beautiful landscapes. Upon arrival in Florence, we head straight to Piazzale Michelangelo, an impressive site in the city. In the evening we provide a tour with a local expert, and walk through the historic centre, taking in places such as the Ponte Vecchio, the Duomo, and Piazza Della Signoria. This city is truly an outdoor museum. Free time to explore. In the evening, you can dine at your favourite restaurant. In this district, you can find restaurants serving Italian, Indian, Chinese and international food.
Day 19: (Wednesday) Florence - Venice
Today's Highlights: Vaporetto boat on Venice’s Grand Canal. Visit and admission to the St Mark´s Basilica. Admire the technique of crafting Murano Glass.
Today we enjoy stunning mountain landscapes while crossing the Apennine Mountains. Arriving in Venice, we will board a Vaporetto to travel around on the canals in the historic centre. With a local guide, we will visit the marvellous St Marck´s and enter the marvellous basilica (entry cost included). Afterwards, we shall be able to visit the Murano glass factory. It is marvellous to see the technique of how this ancient glass is made. Free time.
At the end of the afternoon, you will have the chance to eat dinner in the Mestre area, where you can choose the type of restaurant that you prefer (Indian, Oriental, Italian, etc.).
Day 20: (Thursday)Venice
After breakfast, end of our services.
